300,000 Mile Club!

Here's to sitting on your behind, and all those oil changes and fuel.

Getting a truck over 300,000 miles used to be harder, back before fuel injection, good diesel engines and synthetic oil. A long life from a truck usually reflects proper maintenance and care. If your truck made it, email us your story and a picture of it.
This is my dads 1977 gmc truck it currently has the original engine and trans has been replaced once it has over 300,000 miles on it now it is still my dads daily driver to and from work
My husband bought me that pickup, a 1996 Chevy Silverado, in 1998 with approx. 29,000 miles on it.  He passed away in 1999.  This has been a wonderful pickup.  I brag about my pickup to everyone.  I had to replace the transmission at 77,000 but that was it.  It still runs like a charm. CHEVYS ROCK!
My 1994 Chevrolet Panel truck, (bed installed by them.) Original motor and transmission. Pictures taken on a recent business trip to Northern California. Odometer showed 300,009 miles.
May be one of a kind? Recently contacted the supplier of the fiberglass unit to discover they stopped fabricating these when the cold weather back east caused severe damage between cab and front of unit. Mine was purchased in San Diego, CA as new, w/ 3,800miles. A demo that was presented to Chevrolet showrooms across the country. Would be interesting to find anyone who has seen, or has owned a Panel truck like this. Paul Dufresne

This truck has the original clutch. I've replace the alternator, twice. One water pump. And, the rubber 'balls' in the trans.  The tires are two sizes larger than factory. I've had the over sized tires for the past 300,000 miles. It runs about 5% off on the speedometer. Michael Kenslow, Denton, Texas
This is one for the 400k club, Marchon K. of Athens MI, 99 Dodge Ram 2500, now over 440,000 miles. Same  5.9L 360 gas engine, same auto transmission, finally had to replace the catalytic converter at 439,600 miles.
1983 Nissan  mvp  z-lean motor  hit 300,000   july 29th. 2004 doesn't use or burn oil/four -wheel drive still works excellent, still gets 27 miles to the gallon I'm so proud of my lil truck ....sincerely David B..

Here are some photo's of my 1993 W-250 Goat/Cummins when it turned 300,000. It now has 316,000. Still runs like new engine or auto/od have never had anything but P.M. service. Truck worked hard its first 266,000 hauling heavy loads cross country. At that point I bought it from original owner and semi-retired it. I mostly use it for weekends and an occasional trip hauling tracors and such. Takes 6,000 miles to use a quart of oil. Gets up to 18 MPG solo,12 MPG under trailer. Robert Johnson

Had a Ford E-150 conversion van for 17 years..375,000 miles and never had the heads off! Still running fine when I gave it away to charity. I was lonely for a truck and mom just let get a 1996 F-150, Eddie Bauer with the I-6. Sweet truck and I hope it lasts as well and as long as the first...You have a neat site...Thanks...Pete B, Chula Vista , CA USA

Well here is my entry. 1977 Scottsdale C30, 4x2, 454 cu, 4-speed manual, 4.55 axle ratio. It did have a bed and fiberglass fenders that were about half tore off. I put a Plunkett 8'6"X9' steel flatbed on her. I lost track of the miles after the odo turned over the third time. I put the second 454 cu engine in at about 150,000, the second differential about about 200,000 miles. Dozens of universal-joints, starters, alternators, at least 2 clutches. I ran the water clear out of the engine a couple of times, it had a pin hole in the heater hose from the water pump to the block and pulling a trailer in the heat didn't take long to fry the engine. But each time I replaces all the hoses and sparkplug wires, yeah they were melted too. Then ad the water and she fired right up ready to climb the hill again. Then the last time I over worked her, everything locked up. So I pulled the wheels and flatbed and hauled her to the salvage yard for $500. I still miss ole blue! MrTruck, Colorado

Now here is my disclaimer: I drove a tractor in a circle summer fallowing for a couple of decades, so as I told the folks in Denver when I moved here 10 years ago, if you think I can spell or remember the grammar I learned in high school, you'd be incorrect. I don't know everything and can make mistakes. Just like listening to the preacher on Sunday, you better follow along in the Bible to be sure. Sorry for any mistakes they were not intentional.
